Université de Nouakchott

The University of Nouakchott is Mauritania's main public university and by far its largest higher-education institution. Its current form dates from July 2016, when the original University of Nouakchott (founded 1981) merged with the Université des Sciences, de Technologie et de Médecine (USTM) under the name Université de Nouakchott Al Aasriya; the institution now presents itself simply as Université de Nouakchott. It offers Licence, Master and Doctorat programmes across sciences, medicine, law, economics and the humanities.
