How to get a place abroad

  1. July

Pass the Bac, ideally in the first session

Places abroad are awarded by your national rank within your Bac series. Selective programmes, at home and abroad, are filled right after the first-session results.

  2. August

Rank programmes abroad among your choices

Programmes abroad are listed on etudiants-mesrs.app next to national ones, and you rank them in the same list. In 2026 the platform offered 160 programmes, 29 of them abroad.

  3. Mid-August

    Get your placement

Places go by rank, order of choice and capacity. In 2026, first-session placements were announced on 19 August, and the platform reopened on 23 August for second-session candidates.

  4. After placement

    Send your international application

On the platform's Candidature internationale page, choose the country, enter your NNI and your profile, upload the requested documents as PDF files and submit. The file is locked once it is sent.

  5. Before you leave

    Complete the host country's steps

The host country handles enrolment and its own grant. In Morocco, for example, files reach universities only through the AMCI, and you need an enrolment authorisation before registering. Ask the host country's embassy in Nouakchott about the student visa.

Destination by destination
