The Grande Mahdara Chinguitiya is a public higher-education institution in Akjoujt dedicated to traditional Islamic sciences, modelled on Mauritania's mahdara tradition while also teaching computing and modern languages. It was established by decree in 2019, started classes in 2020-2021 and follows the LMD system.
